BMBF Funding enables the joint research project "Loss of the Night"

31.05.2010 00:00

The Federal Ministry for Education and Research decided to fund the joint research project “Loss of the Night” for three years and now we are able to begin to research intensively on light pollution.

The joint research project “Loss of the Night” has 10 research partners: six institutes belong to the Leibniz Association, one to the Helmholtz Association as well as three institutes of the Freie Universität Berlin and the Technical University Berlin. The interdisciplinary research project investigates the implications and consequences for environment, nature and human being. From the beginning of May 2010 almost 3 mil. EUR from the federal budget is granted to the joint project. These financial resources will be used by all project partners for intensive investigations with artificial light on field sites as well as in laboratories.
