Institut für Energie- und Automatisierungstechnik


The Institute of Energy and Automation Technology is an associated member of Faculty IV - Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at the Technical University of Berlin. The institute’s department of Lighting Technology is mainly concerned with research on innovative and efficient lighting systems, light- and light ray measurement techniques, mesopic vision, as well as visual and health evaluations of light. Light technology is being taught as an independent and specialised field of study at the TU Berlin. Throughout its own research and teaching within and outside the TU Berlin, the department steadily works on a number of interdisciplinary issues in the fields of electro-, building- and environmental technology, power engineering, optoelectronics, architecture and medical facilities.


Within the reserearch project "Loss of the Night" the Department of Light Technology is conducting research on "Specific variation and quantitive characterization of ecological, innovative lighting".
